At the same time we represented the largest freezing works in New Zealand for whom we sold wetblue cattle hides, as well as one of the main raw hide exporters from the United States and Canada. Minor agencies were obtained from companies in countries like England, Germany and the Netherlands.

As a further development became very active in the period from 1977 until 1990 in counter trade transactions between India, Pakistan and Bangladesh on one side and the Soviet Union and its allies on the other side, via Messrs. Andre & Cie. Lausanne, Switzerland, for export of leathers to Europe.

In 1987 was introduced in the trade circles of the Soviet Union and became one of the most travelled non-communist foreigners in the hides, skins and leather trade in the Soviet Union. Large quantities of all kinds of hides offered by all Soviet Republics from the Baltics to the Asian Republics were sold. Particular ties were established with Moldavia, Russia, Ucraine and Kazakhstan.

In 1988 was invited by the Soviets to modernize an old huge tannery in Dzambul Kazakhstan and triplicate its production without interrupting the production for one single day. The project, which included engineering and machine supply was sold to the Soviet Union in 1989 and became a total success for organization and prompt execution within the established time limit. The independent Republic of Kazakhstan commissioned another even more challenging project for which we concluded the contract with the Government of Kazakhstan in 1992.

has a very close relationship with two hide and skins export companies in Rwanda, Burundi and Malawi for sales to buyers all over the world. This activity was started in 1985 and except for six months during the terrible period of the genocide in Rwanda export was never stopped.

has excellent ties to most tanning machine manufacturers all over Italy, and has a special association with some of the largest and successful producers of tanning chemicals in Santa Croce, KLF Tecnokimica s.r.l. and Centralkimica S.p.A., who enable us to assure 100% technical assistance for the production and development of technologically up-to-date quality leathers, whether in wetblue, vegetable tanning, crust or finished condition.
